The Dainese Energyca Air and Dainese Energyca D-WP sneakers are the latest sports shoe from Dainese. Targeted at sport-touring riders who don’t want to go full Dainese Axial D1, these boots blend a Dainese sports shoe with a casual sneaker. With their cowhide leather upper material and numerous inserts around the rest of the shoe, these motorcycle riding shoes have plenty on offer.
The Dainese Energyca sneakers are made of a cowhide leather upper with additional suede inserts. The suede inserts run along the top and the sides of the shoe and have perforations to encourage airflow through the shoe. However, the Dainese Energyca D-WP does not have these perforations to make sure the shoe stays waterproof. The shoes also include a gear shifter guard, have reflective inserts, and a multi grip outsole to prevent slipping when walking around the bike.
For protection, these shoes come with several inserts in key areas. The toe includes TPR inserts and the entire heel has been reinforced with an external TPU structure. The ankles include rigid inserts and there is an additional Velcro strap covering this area as well. The shoes have been certified to CE Cat. II EN 13634 Standards, so they will be safe.
The Dainese Energica shoes carry a surprising amount of comfort features for a sports motorcycle shoe. The shoe is fastened using laces, but also comes with an additional Velcro strap around the ankle for extra security. The Air version of the shoe includes a mesh liner and a perforated outer layer to let air into the shoe, while the D-WP variant of the Energyca shoe features Dainese’s waterproof D-WP interior.
Finally, the Dainese Energyca is offered not only in a perforated and a waterproof version, but also in men’s and women’s sizes.
The Dainese Energyca offer sportsbike riders a more casual option for their daily rides. While these shoes won’t necessarily be for the track, they are ideal for the city with their understated design and plenty of walking comfort.
