Rev’It Glide Jacket Product Description
With the Rev’It Glide jacket, you're getting a nice blend of a cool and understated sporty style with a good level of protection and comfort. The jacket is slated for sport, but you can also just as easily wear it as a sportier type of urban jacket, since it’s made out of the more classic leather. The Revit Glide comes in black, black and white, and in black and neon yellow or neon red in sizes 46-58. With a recommended retail price of almost 400 euros, or around 450 US Dollars, so, this jacket will be competing with the Dainese Racing 3, Dainese Assen, Dainese Avro 4, and the Alpinestars GP Plus jackets.
The RevitGlide jacket is mainly made of cowhide, which will give you some abrasion resistance, while the rest of the leather jacket details, like the logo, are artificial leather. Underneath the arms and in the sides of the jacket is Revit’s PWR Shell stretch material, which gives you breathability and flexibility, since it will stretch a little bit. Lastly, the Rev’ItGlide also has a nice reflector in the back of the jacket, which’ll help keep visibility.
For safety, this jacket also comes with hard protection. In the shoulders, are prominent SEEFLEX CE-level 2 protectors that’ll keep your shoulders safe from the road. The jacket also has the hard protection with the same specs that runs from the jacket’s elbow to about the middle of your forearm, so your arms are certainly covered by this jacket in terms of safety. The Revit glide does come prepared for Revit’s SEESOFT CE-level 2 back protector and SEESOFT chest protector, though these are purchased separately, but are still good ideas to have. Lastly, the jacket comes equipped with a detachable zipper with which you can attach a pair of Revit riding pants or the Rev’It Safeway belt.
In terms of comfort and adjustability, this jacket is really nice. As usual, there are zips up the sleeves, the jacket uses a zipper, and you have two rivets in the waist that you can cinch with. There are also two pockets on either side. Inside, the Glide actually comes with a detachable body warmer, so you can wear it in cold weather too. The warmer quilted and made of nice material, has liner pockets, and you can take it out using the zipper in the jacket. Behind the thermal liner, the jacket is lined with mesh, which´ll help with ventilation.
One last feature is that the Glide is a little longer than most sports jackets. But this is a more stylistic feature owing to the jacket’s more urban origins.
This is a versatile jacket with a pretty good value. It’s a sporty jacket, but still low-key enough that you can wear it and still look like you have that more urban style, and you can wear it in different weather conditions, so it’s nice that you can get a bit of both. But this jacket doesn’t just give you style, but it’s bringing you some higher-level protection with its CE-level 2 padding.
