Dainese D-explorer 2
Dainese D-explorer 2
The Dainese D-Explorer 2 Gloves are designed to match with the Dainese D-Explorer 2 Gore-Tex Jacket and Dainese D-Explorer 2 Pants to form a premium adventure set up. As such, these gloves walk the line between protection and comfort to give a high level of both with their leather palms, reinforced knuckles, and micro protective inserts.
Coming in with a recommended retail price of 95 Euros, or approximately 100 US Dollars, these textile and leather gloves offer strong versatility. They will also be competing with the Revit Dirt 3 and Revit Sand 3 gloves.
For the material on the Dainese DExplorer 2 Gloves , you will be getting a large amount of mesh fabric inserts. These, of course, offer ventilation and comfort, while still giving some abrasion resistance in less hazardous areas. However, this is also made up for by the amount of hard protection placed on top of the mesh, made of breathable and elasticated fabric.
Around your wrist is a breathable elastic fabric for comfort and the palm is made out of goatskin leather. Goatskin is a standard leather in this category and will provide a great level of abrasion and tear resistance that is a must for ADV riders planning to go off road.
Most of your protection against impact on these CE CAT II gloves is going to come from the polyurethane knuckle insert. These gloves are CE level 1 and are also Pr-EN certified, meaning that these gloves are meant to function as protective equipment, not just the hard knuckle. For further safety, Dainese have also added Micro-injection inserts on the fingers and the back of the hand.
Additionally, given the extensive use an ADV glove will see, Dainese have also added soft palm reinforcement on two sides of the heel of the palm.
As with any glove that also has some touring requirements placed on it, the Dainese D-Explorer Two Gloves are comfortable. The glove comes with Dainese Smart Touch, so you can easily adjust your touch screen device whether to change the music or check how much further it is without having to take off your glove.
However, given the D-Explorer II’s off road requirements, Dainese have also added a visor wiper on the left thumb to make it easier to clear your visor in the rain and help clean the helmet. The last comfort features on the glove include the neoprene cuff, pre-curved fingers, and for customization there is a tightening strap as well.
So, these gloves offer protection, comfort and flexibility, making them a strong addition to a D Explorer 2 suit or any kind of adventure rider.
