Alpinestars GP Pro V2 Jacket Product Description

The Alpinestars GP Pro V2 Jacket is the latest iteration of the famous GP Pro racing leather jacket. The jacket features improved fit, packed with class leading track tested protection, and a new Alpinestars Tech Air Airbag compatibility.

The Alpinestars jacket is made from cowhide leather for abrasion resistance and includes larger external shoulder protectors. The jacket is also fully prepared for the Alpinestars Airbag for much better impact protection and even includes an LED status display in the sleeve for ease of use. The jacket also includes CE level protection and a detachable thermal liner.

So, the Alpinestars jacket will be competing with the Revit Hyperspeed Pro, Dainese Super Speed 3, and the Dainese Super Race Jackets.

The Alpinestars GP Pro 2 Jacket is constructed out of a 1.3mm cowhide premium leather main chassis constructed for a high level of abrasion resistance. The jacket itself has been CE Cat. II certified to AAA class, which is the best currently possible in the standard. The chassis is held together with an inner Kevlar knit in the shoulders and elbows (high abrasion zones) for even better strength.

For additional comfort, the jacket also includes High Resistant Stretch Fabric (HRSF) polyamide inserts for comfort. Lastly, the jacket comes with 3D air mesh in the cuff and collar for a high level of ventilation.

The safety of the Alpinestars GPPro 2 Jacket is one of the areas with the greatest improvement. The motorcycle jacket uses multi-density polymer Dynamic Friction Shield (DFS) external protectors in the shoulders and elbows for abrasion and impact resistance. Compared to the previous jacket, these protectors have also been enlarged. Inside, the jacket includes CE level shoulder and elbow protectors, and there are pockets for a Nucleon KR-R back protector and a Nucleon KR-Ci chest protector that can be purchased separately.

To complete the GP Pro V2 leather jacket’s protective capability, it comes fully optimized for the Alpinestars Tech Air Race Airbag System. Though it needs to be purchased separately, this is another new development from Alpinestars. Derived from MotoGP level technology, the airbag covers the chest, back, and shoulders and is fully self-contained.

The LED display in the jacket's sleeve indicates the airbag's status while an internal housing located in the back protector houses the ECU computer unit. Overall, the jacket's unique design means it can be equally and effectively worn on or off the track with a full level of protection.

Thanks to stretch inserts in the sleeves and accordion panels in the shoulders, the jacket offers a high level of comfort and stretch. The jacket is fastened with a YKK zip and an additional TPR collar tab to keep it secure once fastened.

To keep you cool, the jacket also features perforations in the chest, upper arms, and in the aerodynamic speed hump in the back.

On the inside, the jacket comes with a detachable windbreaker, an inner waterproof pocket, and second non-waterproof internal pocket. There are also to pockets on either side on the outside of the jacket.

For adjustments, the waist uses a Velcro tab adjuster and the sleeves include zips to make putting the jacket on easier.

The Alpinestars GP Pro V2 Jacket (Tech Air Compatible) is a premium racing jacket that has not skimped out on safety. The jacket is fully race ready in its styling, comfort, and protective abilities thanks to its multi-density protectors, airbag compatibility, and stretch fabric inserts.
